This range covers the everyday boxes most buyers have in mind. Some are corrugated and built for shipping or storage. Others are paperboard or gray board and built to look good on a shelf.
Nothing here is a stock size. You give us the inside measurements, the board and the print, and we send a quote by email within one business day. Boxes start from $0.30 a box, and the exact figure depends on size, board and quantity.
If you want the simplest order, start with plain cardboard boxes in any size. There is no artwork to prepare, so they move fastest.
Which cardboard box fits which job?
The table lists every style in the range. Read the middle column to match a box to what you sell or store, then open that page for sizes and board options.

Who buys boxes from this range?
Most orders come from small businesses that want a box matched to their own product. A snug fit uses less filler and looks neater when the customer opens it.
Offices, warehouses and restaurants order here too. Many accountants and law offices reorder archive boxes for office records every year. Once you have ordered, we can reuse your size, board and artwork on the next run.
- Etsy and Shopify sellers who ship every day
- Subscription brands that pack the same box monthly
- Bakeries and cafes with takeout orders
- Warehouses that need uniform stock cartons
- Offices moving files into long-term storage
- Retail shops that want a branded gift box
How do I choose the right box size?
Measure the product, or the packed bundle if you add wrap or an insert. Then add a little room. About 1/4 in (6 mm) per side works for soft goods, and more for fragile ones.
Always give inside size in this order: length, width, height. Height runs from the opening down to the base. A typical gift box might be 8 × 6 × 3 in, and a shipping carton 14 × 10 × 6 in.
For compact goods, check small cardboard boxes for compact products. A tight fit also keeps your shipping weight down.
Which board and wall thickness should I order?
Single wall corrugated handles most orders. E flute is about 1/16 in (1.5 mm) and folds into clean small boxes. B flute is about 1/8 in (3 mm). C flute is about 5/32 in (4 mm) and cushions more.
Double wall BC flute is about 1/4 in (7 mm). Choose it for heavy loads, rough handling or tall stacks.
Kraft or white paperboard is thinner and smoother. It suits boxes that sit on a counter or shelf. For a stiffer, premium feel, see gray board boxes for keepsake gifts.
If you are unsure, tell us what a packed box weighs and how it travels. Your quote will name the board we suggest.
| Board | Thickness | Typical use here |
|---|---|---|
| E flute single wall | About 1/16 in (1.5 mm) | Small, drawer and cube boxes |
| B flute single wall | About 1/8 in (3 mm) | Lidded and everyday plain boxes |
| C flute single wall | About 5/32 in (4 mm) | Storage boxes and medium cartons |
| BC double wall | About 1/4 in (7 mm) | Large, heavy and stacked boxes |
| Kraft or white paperboard | Thin and smooth | Handle, cylinder and gift styles |
Can I print my logo on a cardboard box?
Yes. You can order plain, one color, two color or full color CMYK. Print goes on the outside, the inside or both.
One color on kraft is the lowest-cost way to brand a box. Full color suits photos, patterns and solid fills. A dark base looks sharp with foil or spot UV, as shown on black cardboard boxes with foil finishes.
Finishes include uncoated kraft, matte or gloss lamination, spot UV, foil stamping and embossing. You get a free design proof before anything is printed. Our designers help with layout at no charge.
You can also place your logo on a box photo with Design Your Box before you order.
How do lids, handles and drawers change the box?
The closure decides how a box is packed and how it feels to open. A taped flap box suits storage and bulk shipping. A lid or drawer suits gifts the customer will keep.
For gift sets and shoes, look at cardboard boxes with lids for gifts. The lid lifts off cleanly, and the base can hold something else later.
Handled boxes suit cakes, party favors and takeout. The handle folds up from the same board, so there is no extra part to assemble.
- Top flaps that close at a center seam and are sealed with tape
- A separate lid that sits over a base
- A drawer tray that slides out of a sleeve
- A fold-up handle for carrying by hand
- A tube body with a push-on lid
How should I pack and stack these boxes?
Put the heaviest piece in first. Fill the gaps until nothing shifts. Movement inside a box causes more damage than a bump from outside.
Run tape along the center seam and across both edges of the base. Keep the contents level with the top. A bulging lid weakens the corners and lets in moisture.
For stockroom shelves, stack matching sizes and keep the heaviest boxes on the bottom row. Cardboard storage boxes for stockrooms include a plain panel for a handwritten label.
Label two sides of every storage box. When boxes sit against a wall, a single label is often hidden.
What mistakes should I avoid when ordering?
The most common error is sending outside measurements. We make to inside size, so the outside grows by the board thickness on each side. With BC double wall, that adds about 1/2 in (14 mm) to each dimension.
Another mistake is picking heavy board for light goods. Extra thickness adds weight and cost with no benefit. For bulky goods that truly need strength, large cardboard boxes for bulky goods are usually built in BC.
Check that artwork has bleed and that text stays clear of the folds. The proof shows both, so read it before you approve.
Finally, think about quantity. Ordering a quarter's worth of stock often costs less per box than ordering a few weeks at a time, if you have dry space to store it.
How do I order cardboard boxes?
Ordering takes a few minutes. Fill in the short form at the top of this page. If you already know the style, the kraft drawer boxes for small gifts page has its own form.
- Pick a box style from the table above.
- Note the height, width and length you need inside the box.
- Choose the board and the print.
- Our designers can lay out your artwork for free, or you can upload your own.
- Check and approve the free design proof.
- Production takes 4–6 business days after approval.
- Free tracked shipping arrives in 2–3 business days.
What affects the price of a cardboard box?
Four things set the price: size, board, print and quantity. A bigger box uses more board. Double wall uses more than single wall.
Print adds cost by the number of colors and by whether you print one side or both. Foil and embossing need extra tooling, so they cost more on short runs.
Quantity matters most. Set-up cost is spread across the run, so the price per box drops as the order grows. Slim styles such as flat cardboard boxes for slim items use less board and often cost less.
Ask for two or three quantities on one quote so you can compare. Minimums are low and quoted per job.
- Box size and shape
- Board type and wall
- Number of print colors
- Inside print as well as outside
- Special finishes
- Order quantity
What about round, cube and cylinder shapes?
Not every product fits a rectangle. Round boxes are made to a diameter and height. They suit hats, flowers and candles. Cube boxes keep all three sides equal, so mugs and plants stand upright.
A cylinder box is a tube body topped with a fitted lid. They suit loose tea, rolled posters and cosmetics. See cardboard cylinder boxes for tea and candles for common diameters.
These shapes cost a little more than a plain carton because the board is cut and wrapped differently. Your emailed quote shows the exact price.
Cardboard Boxes: questions
12 answersAre all these cardboard boxes made to order?
Yes. We cut each style to the inside size you give us. We do not sell fixed stock sizes.
How much does a cardboard box cost?
Prices start from $0.30 a box. Size, board, print and quantity move that figure, and the exact price arrives in your emailed quote.
Can I order cardboard boxes with no printing?
Yes. Plain kraft is available on every style. Plain boxes are the quickest to order because there is no artwork to check.
How long does an order take?
Once you approve the proof, allow 4–6 business days for production. Shipping then adds 2–3 business days in transit.
Is shipping free?
Yes. Shipping is free and tracked to any US address.
Which board is best for heavy items?
Most heavy orders go in BC double wall, about 1/4 in (7 mm) thick, especially if boxes will be stacked. C flute suits medium weights.
How is gray board different from corrugated?
Gray board is a dense, solid board used for stiff gift and keepsake boxes. Corrugated has a fluted layer inside that cushions goods in transit.
Can I print the inside of the box?
Yes. Inside print can be ordered alone or with outside print. Lidded, drawer and gift styles use it most often.
Do you make black cardboard boxes?
Yes. Black boxes are printed over kraft or white board. They take foil stamping and spot UV well.
What if my boxes arrive damaged or misprinted?
Send photos within 10 days of delivery. We will reprint the boxes or refund them.
Can I give sizes in inches?
Yes. Inches are the standard, and millimeters are accepted too. The proof shows the exact sizes we will cut.
Will someone help me with the box layout?
Yes. Our designers can build or tidy the layout for free. Nothing is printed until you approve the proof.
